It is with deep sorrow and profound shock that we notify you of the sudden and unfortunate death of BRO. MOSES TITUS KACHIMA who until his death was the Principal of Tom Mboya Labour College, Kisumu.
The late Brother Moses Titus Kachima died yesterday Wednesday 5th January, 2013 in the morning in Dar es Salaam hospital after fighting with prostate cancer for a very long time.
Until his demise Brother Kachima was the Principal of Tom Mboya Labour College where he made tremendous changes towards the success of the college by making it one of the most recognized college locally, regionally and internationally foremost by developing and inventing the Strategic Plan and implementing it. In addition both COTU (K) and Tom Mboya Labour College heavily relied upon for his wise leadership and management.
Further, before he acquired his position as the Principal of Tom Mboya Labour College, Brother Kachima served as the Deputy Secretary General of the National Centre in Tanzania, Trade Union Congress of Tanzania, TUCTA and the Executive Secretary of Southern African Trade Union Co-ordination Council, SATUCC, and the entire labour Movement both in Tanzania and across the region has lost a man of principle who stood firm in defending the lowly placed workers and offered his life to the workers.
Funeral arrangements are at the final stages and his body will be laid to rest on Friday 1st February, 2013 in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.
Meanwhile we urge all of us to join hands in praying to the Almighty God to give both his colleagues in the Labour Movement and family members the strength and energy to endure during these difficult moments.
